1/12/2008 Hadiths that makes you go "Hmmm..."Oy! The things you learn in a chat room! We were talking about Muslim hadiths, and one of the OPs posted a few rather - um - hilarious - hadiths, to say the least. "It reminds me of Hadith in which prophet of Islam (and allegedly, last one) ordered his followers that if they fart during prayer, Allah will not listen to them. He further elaborates by saying that: If you feel like that you have committed such an act and aren't sure, then smell. If you smell bad, then restain from continuing your prayer and if not, you may proceed. This guys (prophet of Islam is really too specific and fellas, start liking him). I must also mention that he also asked his Sahabas (immediate and close followers) to move their private part 3 times while urinating and clean your private part with an uneven number of stones after excretion." I nearly died laughing!!! Of course, when I looked it up, I also found some rather disturbing Hadiths that put down women, advocate violence and death, and promote isolation. Here is a link to a list of some rather funny, and sad, hadiths: http://www.answer-islam.org/Inspiredhadith2.html
Sorta make you go "Hmmm..." doesn't it? 1/1/2008 New Year's DreamsI often wonder what it's like to be in love with someone who's in love with you back...not a brother/sisterly love, but a real love between the husband and wife I read about in Christian romance novels. Sometimes I wonder if it's for real, or is it for fiction? Some people say it's real; others say it's only fiction. For me, it's performing our marital duty...it's neither pleasent nor painful. It's over in five minutes. Sometimes I wonder if it's my Catholic upbringing, other times it's like Hubby said...some women aren't meant to have a romance-novel experience.
A realistic New Year's Resolution: To pray every day for Hubby and to work on our marriage. Hopefully it'll work out for all of us as a family. My last year's resolution was to stop swearing...and it worked!!!! But I know I had G-d's help in that. For years, I've tried to stop...but couldn't. Then, finally, it suddenly stopped. Thank You, Father, for Your help! |
