28/12/2007 New Years, Sikrit Crushes, and Does God Exist?????New Year's is coming up, and I'm actually excited for our NYE party! The Christmas was, unfortunately, was so stressful that I literally made myself sick...and now I thank God it's over and done with! :) I'll be making hors d'oerves for the first time in my life...thus grossing out my husband with the very thought of it...LOL Ah, well, he'll find out how yummy they are at the party.
Still in IRC Land, and wow, talk about tangles of the heart! One chick was having a rough time w/getting over an online offair...yet I try to pray and listen to her...at the same time I'm feeling guilty myself because of my own crush on Cranky Op. Well, at least in my case, he hasn't got a clue of my romantic feelings...but still...God knows....*sigh*
So I'm in #christiandebate, (yes, I know, I'm addicted) and what reallyreallyreally amuses me is that atheists...newer users, and regulars love to try and get us Christians to prove God's existance with science, or naturally. Now, how on earth does anyone prove a spirit being/entity using natural means? LOL I do, however, show them Psalms 19:1: "For the director of music. A psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (NIV) Though we cannot see God Himself, we can certainly see His handiwork.
Now I must start thinking of my New Year's Resolutions....hmmmmmmm.....1) Learn to stand on my head 2) Get rich quick by reading one of Robert Tilton's Success N' Life books 3) Kiss Prime Minister Stephen Harper on the lips 4) Go find the remains of Noah's Ark...for real 5) Stop being silly......
LOL
IN MY DREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wild, Wild, Weather and PoliticsEnviroment Canada has released their annual top ten Weather Stories list...and it has been wild! This paragraph is scaring scientists and giving cool materials for the conspiracy theorists:
"On September 12, satellite images over Arctic waters revealed that sea ice in the area had shrunk to about 4 million square km - a minimum not seen for possibly more than a century. The ice shrinkage stunned scientists, who found 23 per cent less sea ice than the previous record of 5.3 million square km in 2005. It was as if an ice chunk the size of Ontario had disappeared in one year. Since 1971, and particularly since 1990, sea ice in the Arctic Ocean has been decreasing significantly on a hemispherical scale. But this year’s “big melt” was a shocker." -Enviroment Canada's website Then there were BC's wild storms, super-dry summers, a Hurricane Juan-wannabe right here in alifax, and Canada's first F5 tornado in Manitoba, packing winds of 420km/h. http://www.ec.gc.ca/doc/smc-msc/m_110/toc_eng.html And on to some sadder news...former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated...right during election time. Wow, the Muslim radicals never give up. Her family didn't have a good life, though...her father, former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was ousted and hanged in 1979, after a military coup, and she also lost a brother due to Islamic extremism. They'll find a replacement for her, though. In a way, I'm hoping the PM in power now, Pervez Musharraf, stays in power, as Christians are given some protection in Pakistan uner his rule. 10/12/2007 Ignorant Dudes and Interesting FactsYesterday I was talking to this dude on IRC about my channel, #depressed_christian. He told me (and he's a believer as well) that it was sad that Christians are depressed, and even sadder that there was a channel for them. I then explained the purpose of my channel, and that I have depression and anxiety disorder myself, and with meds mine is treated, so it was mostly biochemical for me, and he said "biochemical big whoop, it's His bio, and His chemicals," and that He can cure anything. It was like a punch in the gut. Even my own husband, who thinks along the lines of Mr. Big Shot here, noticed a difference in me (for the better) now that I'm on medication. So yeah, depression is a federal offence!!!!!!!!! ROFL
A coupla interesting facts:
1) The leaves on the rhubarb plant is poisionous but the rest isn't. And did you know they are actually a vegetable?
2) The skin of wild almonds in Israel is poisionous, but the nut is edible. In fact, hydrogen cyanide is made from the almond skins.
3) The berries of the Solanum niger are deadly poisonous when green, and edible when ripe.
04/12/2007 Hospital StressMy daughter accidently hit my son in his left eye last Tuesday evening, and on Wednesday morning, he woke up crying really hard, so we took him to the hospital. There, the doctor has noticed bleeding on the inside part of the eye, near the front, gave us some drops, then told us to bring us back in on Friday. Thursday morning came, and the doctor's office called, wanting my son in that morning. Stupid me did not anticipate an immediate hospital stay, but since the doctor said it was only bedrest for 24-48 hours, I relaxed. We would be going home on Saturday.
Saturday morning came around, we were all packed up, son was happy, the resident doctor-on-call came, looked at his eyes, and said "Nope...gotta stay till Monday" I freaked out. How on earth will a five year-old active kid stay in bed all that time?????????????????????????????????????? Monday came, and the doctor said nope, another night. I think I just about had a seizure or something. Hubby just about hit the roof but was sweet-faced to the nurses...typical. Finally, just FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! today we came home...and boy was my son happy!!!
Staying in hospital can be really stressful, even for a housewife. The stress of not knowing what's going on, how much money I'll need for meals, and putting up w/migraine headaches was an understatement for stress. Having a husband who has no clue how to bring the right things in, and hearing your litte boy sit on the edge of the bed crying "I wanna go home!" doesn't help at all.
So I'm back in full swing in #christiandebate...oh wow, I missed everyone!!! Son's playing quietly on the floor, Hubby's shovelling snow and working at his crosswalk job, and we're all having pizza tonight. All is well, er, as well as it's gonna get, anyway......
Well, um not quite........my daughter has to go to hospital tomorrow for an examination under anesthesia!!! |
