3/25/2007 A Welfare Bum's RantSo I've been reading up on the Federal/Provincial budgets...and in NS the social assistance allowance will make a yearly adjustment of a 2.1% raise. Whoopee. And I saw on the Fed's website that there's gonna be a $310 per kid child tax credit. Now, don't get excited, moms...this new tax credit's gonna replace the old one that we're gettin' now. LOL...it would be nice if we got both...but you reallyreallyreally think the gov't is gonna be THAT generous??? I mean, we're already $481 billion in Nat'l Debt. Oh, how this "play on words" get to me. Get our hopes waaaaaaaaaaaay up high and zooooooooooom...crash, thud, groan! Be on your guard. And the new $500 tax credit to get over the "welfare wall"...gee, I hope that'll help. We're on social assistance ourselves and that's what I'm afraid of if my husband gets another job...it'll be a low-paying one, anyway. We'll be off the welfare system, but my kids need glasses, medicine, hearing aids, and not only that, I do too!!! That stuff cost mega-$$$$$$$$$$$! And a lousy five hundred bucks ain't gonna cut it. My kids's glasses are $300; a pair of hearing aids is $800 (while mine are about $2500!!! WHOOOOOEEEEEEEE!!! Someone's making money somewhere...sheesh! Here in Nova Scotia, they were supposed to implement the Pharmacare program for low-income working families, and still they haven't done that...and that was one of the provincial Tories' promises! (with the Pharmacare program, one only pay $5 per prescription) I know it doesn't directly affect us as a family cuz as welfare recipients, Dept. of Community Services does the Pharmare Program with us...but really...it should be extended to the low-income workers as well. They say (provincial and federal gov'ts) they wanna eliminate poverty, then why in the world don't they do more to get people off the welfare system??? Never mind, the extra money you'll be paying in the short run...you're saving in the long run, Mr. Prime Minister and Mr. Premier!!! Pay now, and you'll have less people to send out checks to later on? A worthwhile investment, hmm? Hire a few more social workers, do some stragety planning, then invest. I hope Mr. Harper reads this rant. (LOL in my wildest dreams...) 3/19/2007 Federal Budget RantToday Finance Minister Jim Flaherty announced the 2007 Budget...and in 48 hours, we'll find out whether or not we're headed towards another federal election. I admit I haven't heard all that much of the budget, but www.globalnational.com/budget will give you all the boring details. Heh heh I really like getting $310 per kid in child tax credit...oh, honey...let's make love tonight...lol!
So it looks like Bloc Leader Gilles Duceppe will go for the budget...he's getting 300 million smackaroos pumped into Quebec in fiscal imbalance money over three years...yeah, the Blocs will support the budget.
Now, NDP leader Jack Layton's not gonna support the budget...ain't surprised. He never did like PM Stephen Harper in the first place. Nuffin' new. Then last but not least, (drumroll, please) Canada's Next Prime Minister, Current Leader of the Liberal Opposition Party, Stephane Diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-ON!!! Well, I ain't surprised one bit that he's not gonna support the conservative budget...in fact, he's gonna table on non-confidence motion on the budget. Tryin' to trigger an election. Dion just wanna fulfill his own prophesy. Hmmm...good luck, ol' grouch. Since the Conservative Gov't is a minority gov't and holds the balance of power, they need all three opposition parties to vote against the budget. So, really, it's the Blocs that are holding the cards.
All that been said...lemme go to the gov't website to see what's in store for me...
3/9/2007 Passionate Romancers RantYou know, I reallyreallyreally wanna pull my hair out! I'm sooooooooooo mad at myself it's not funny!!! I mean, how can I even fall for this foolishness??? So I was in eliyah.com's chat room, talking about the Bible and stuff, and this guy came on and wanted to talk to us. So I was nice to him and the like, and he wanted to speak to me in private, and wouldn't accept PM (in the chat room). He gave me his email addy, and I did the same, and we IM'd each other on MSN. Now, he already knew I was married, and that I wanted to talk about the Bible with him, and he told me that he was a Messianic Believer. That was pretty cool, but as soon as I came on to MSN he started talking sexual talk. We talked a bit (with me sternly but politely reminding him that I wasn't that type of person and prefer not to discuss such personal matters with him, and that I really wanted to talk about the Bible. I also explained the importance of being faithful in a marriage. Somehow I managed to end the conversation, cuz it really wasn't going anywhere. I just wasn't getting thru to the fellow's thick head that I did NOT want to talk about sex! I finally came to my senses, and blocked the guy, and told my husband what I did. He didn't get mad at me, thank goodness, I guess cuz I did the right thing.
This is reallyreallyreally disgusting. I mean, why on earth would ANYONE come on a Christian chat room and lure innocent people way and talk dirty with them? They aughtta be ashamed of themselves. LOL...this color reminds me of the color of baby poop...exactly what I think about last night's romancer and all the other guys like him! 3/2/2007 Blue Cards RantWhat is it with most of the cards being blue? I have four cards that I use on a regular basis...a blue credit card; a blue health card; a blue bank card; and a blue Air Miles card. And I'm always giving the wrong card, much to my chagrin. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I'm visually impaired...so I have the right to use different-colored cards!!! Maybe I should go to Human Rights...yeah, that's it...my basic human rights of not being embarrassed due to a disability I have no control over. Yeah. Maybe I can get a lil' extra money by suing all these blue-cards companies for causing pain and suffering due to immense humailiation and embarrassment due to a disability I have absolutely no control over. I will demand maybe...um...talking cards that say "You are now holding your Air Miles card." and maybe...oh, let's see...make their colors more different. How about fuschia pink? And lime-green? Hmmm...neon orange and black-and-orange tiger stripes for the other 2 cards. Sigh...oh how I love to make fun of our Canadian mentality! lol |
