4/28/2006 Federal Budget RantAnd so they're gonna vote on the federal budget on May 1st. In it will be Harper's Daycare Annihilation Project. It'll be a vote of confidence. Not surprising. Sounds like Harper's bullying the MP's into accepting his devious plans! This is not democracy; this is dictatorship!!!  4/21/2006 I'm Now An Official Biker Chick...Well, for the first time in my life, I actually rode on the back of my husband's motorcycle. It sure was different! My legs have to get used to being spread wide apart for an extended period of time (yeah, I know, we don't have much sex) and I gotta get a pair of leather gloves. At least the helmet protects my face from the wind! It is cold and windy out today, anyway. Overall, my hubby said I did pretty good. Only sit a little further back. (Methinks he means "lose a little more wieght") Do I like it??? So, in order to get approval for the Child Care Plan Annihilation Project, the Tories need at least one opposition party to support his dubiuos plan. WELL, it looks like the Bloc, Grits, and the N-Dippers have formed an alliance on the issue. SOOOOOOO, Stephen Harper decided to take a hissy fit and challenged the budget vote to be vote of confidence. You know what THAT means...it's a vote that could BRING THE GOV'T DOWN!!! Oh, great...another five to six weeks of childish politicians having mud-slinging contests and wasting 250 million smackaroos of TAXPAYERS' money when it could be going to something useful...like creating badly-needed child-care spaces. AAAUUURRRGGGHHH!!!! 4/18/2006 Daycare Mom Rants AgainIt's the Daycare Mom ranting again, reminding all of you out there to contact your local Member of Parliament, to encourage them to put pressure on the Harper gov't to honor the Child Care funding. PLEASE DON'T LET US DAYCARE MOMS DOWN!!! 4/13/2006 Daycare Mom's RantI hope everyone on this planet reads this entry cuz I'm ticked!!! Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants to scrap the Liberals' five-year daycare plan (and the provinces were ALREADY receiving part of the $ for the daycare plan when the Tories went in power.) That hundred bucks a month per kid under age six just ain't gonna cut it. Daycare fees are rising, so that means that whatever $ the parents get will be swallowed up in rising fees. Some daycares are even CLOSING due to lack of federal funding! I have two special needs children that benefit greatly from a daycare that specializes in caring for special needs children as well as normal children. We have three resource teachers working full time at the daycare. Why are they able to provide such excellent service to my children? Because they get federal funding, that's way! But if Stephen (DUBYA!!!) Harper gets his way, my children aren't gonna have a daycare to go to. Please, for the love of God, call your local MP to speak on behalf of us parents who NEED (not want) daycare to care for our children. Especially if the MP in your riding is a Conservative MP. 4/6/2006 An Add-onAs a continuation of my last entry, I found out something: according to a news organization, there are 43 Islamic countries, and 18 countries that are ruled by Muslim laws. Which confirms my reasons why the Jews should be allowed to have their (one) country. It's only fair. |
